Systems Specialist-Controls Engineering Automation

Overview

Execute and contribute to industrial automation and controls engineering projects for life sciences bioprocess applications. Design, implement, test, and sustain solutions involving HMI, PLC, DCS software, and hardware integration.

What you'll do

• Execute automation software development activities from design through validation and release.
• Develop, enhance, and sustain bioprocess automation systems.
• Execute engineering change requests and orders under quality and regulatory processes.
• Analyze technical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams and project stakeholders.
• Apply new skills and share knowledge to improve engineering effectiveness.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of industrial automation and control system software development experience.
• Experience across requirements analysis, design, development, testing, verification, validation, and release.
• Hands-on HMI/SCADA and PLC programming experience on at least two major platforms.
• Understanding of automation architectures, hardware interfaces, communication protocols, and PID control.
• Experience with PLM and project management tools such as Azure DevOps, ALM, Jira, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of software verification, validation, defect management, and root cause analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience in bioprocess, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated industrial environments.
• Exposure to 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, GMP, or CSV practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and industrial networking protocols.
• Experience authoring controlled technical documents.
