Overview
Core Operations Associate helps run day-to-day processing for assigned clients and portfolios, with a focus on settlements, reconciliation, exceptions, and monitoring unusual activity.
What you'll do
- Coordinate internal work with global Centres of Excellence, Client Operations, shared services, and Joint Venture operations to complete assigned day-to-day activities.
- Review and analyze settlement processing, including clearing house activities (DTC, DTCC, CREST, Euroclear) to ensure pre- and post-settlement steps are followed.
- Review faxed and electronic instructions from sales and trading, validate against static data, and support reconciliation and enrichment processes.
- Support smooth processing aligned with a fund’s policies and follow backup procedures during system application and/or transmission issues.
- Research and resolve exceptions and inquiries, and assist with exception resolution by liaising for support.
- Identify unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and report/escalate in line with corporate policy and operating procedures.
- Collaborate on settlements and reconciliation, checking trade booking, capturing, validation, enrichment, and amendments against guidelines and cut-offs.
What you'll need
- Minimum 4 years of related custody and/or fund accounting experience.
- Strong exposure to process improvement projects.
- Strong computer competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Familiarity with trade life cycle and guidelines including ISITC, IFSA, TMPG, and GBP.
- Good understanding of claims flow and NOSTRO/payment systems (MT202, Fed wire, CREST, and Swift messages such as MT299, 300, 199, 399, 546).
