Credit Group Manager - Mumbai

Overview

Credit Group Manager role within Citi’s Institutional Credit Management (ICM) for institutional clients, focused on credit underwriting and first line of defense credit approval and monitoring.

What you'll do

• Lead execution of credit approvals and prepare/lead discussions with Risk and escalation within 1LOD.
• Underwrite and monitor a portfolio of corporate clients from origination discussions to credit approval memos and senior approval forums.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial analysis, due diligence, projection modeling, stress testing, risk ratings, and related analysis by junior analysts.
• Provide underwriting sign-off and recommendations for transactions requiring senior approval.
• Partner with Front Office on structuring new transactions and negotiating legal documentation.
• Manage direct reports by tracking workload and helping address staffing bottlenecks.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of credit-related risk work experience in banking/financial institutions.
• Superior risk assessment skills including problem recognition and structuring solutions to credit issues.
• Exposure to global credit risk management standards.
• Ability to understand capital markets products and complex financing/product structures.
• Experience engaging with regulators and internal/external control functions including Internal Audit and Fundamental Credit Risk.
• Bachelor’s/University degree; Master’s degree preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
