Overview

Principal, Data Strategy and Governance (DG Lead) at Amgen to define and operationalize enterprise data governance in collaboration with leadership and business functions.

What you'll do

• Design and operationalize enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.
• Engage business functions to lead data governance for priority initiatives including AI, analytics, and digital programs.
• Drive data governance maturity through FAIR and enterprise data strategy.
• Establish data governance councils, stewardship forums, and data ownership models.
• Manage data risks, issues, and escalations; define and establish governance controls for regulatory compliance.
• Partner with Enterprise MDM to govern master and reference data standards and support audit readiness.

What you'll need

• 12-16 years of relevant experience in data governance and data management.
• Strong expertise in defining and executing data governance frameworks and playbooks.
• Exposure in defining enterprise data governance frameworks.
• Expertise in Data Governance and at least one other data management capability (e.g., data quality or master data management).
• Experience with data governance tools such as Collibra and similar data management platforms.
• Exposure to unstructured data management and strong stakeholder management/communication skills.
