Custom Software Engineer

Overview

Custom Software Engineer responsible for automating and operating customer environments across application and infrastructure layers. The role focuses on reliability, incident response, monitoring, and reducing operational work through automation and AI-assisted troubleshooting.

What you'll do

• Own customer environments across configurations, deployments, patching, and scaling.
• Automate runbook tasks including SQL scripts, queue management, data fixes, and restores.
• Build self-service workflows using PowerShell, Python, and GitHub Actions.
• Monitor system health with Datadog and respond to alerts through on-call tools.
• Troubleshoot incidents across application and infrastructure layers.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and document operational processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and eliminate operational toil through automation.

What you'll need

• 5–10 years of experience in systems, operations, or platform engineering.
• BTECH qualification.
• Experience with cloud automation and DevOps.
• Strong SQL skills, including backups, restores, troubleshooting, and data fixes.
• Experience with Windows Server, Linux, PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Experience with Datadog and incident tools such as PagerDuty, Opsgenie, or ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of cloud fundamentals, networking, web servers, Git, and GitHub workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-based observability or predictive alerting.
• Experience in teams combining engineering and operations responsibilities.
