Custom Software Engineer

Overview

Act as an SAP Oil & Gas Downstream subject matter expert, providing functional guidance to a support team and resolving complex production incidents in a custom software engineering role.

What you'll do

• Act as an SAP Oil & Gas Downstream SME and provide functional guidance to the support team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents and recurring application issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive solutions.
• Collaborate with business, functional, technical, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams.
• Own key support decisions and coordinate issue resolution across multiple teams.
• Mentor junior resources and promote knowledge sharing.
• Drive improvements to application stability, support efficiency, and business continuity.

What you'll need

• Minimum 7.5 years of experience in SAP for Oil & Gas Downstream.
• Proficiency in SAP for Oil & Gas Downstream.
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP Oil & Gas Downstream: TSW – Trading & Scheduling Work bench; SPW – Stock Projection Work bench; TD – Bulk Transportation & Distribution; TM – Transport Management with Integration TSW; HPM – Hydrocarbon Product Management; F&A – Formula & Average Price; Oil Exchanges; TDP – Tariffs, Duties and Permits; LCFS & RINs – Low Carbon Fuel Standard and Renewable Identification Numbers.
• Strong experience in at least one core SAP module: SAP SD or SAP MM.
• Strong SAP production/application support and troubleshooting experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to independently handle complex issues and work across multiple teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
• 15 years full time education.
