Custom Software Engineering Lead

Overview

Own the technical direction and architecture of custom software solutions, leading teams through design and delivery. Serve as the Oracle Intelligent Advisor (OIA) Senior Specialist, designing and maintaining complex business rules and policy models.

What you'll do

• Act as SME, collaborate with and manage the team, and make team decisions related to business rules and policy modeling.
• Design, develop and maintain complex policy models and business rules using Oracle Intelligent Advisor / Oracle Policy Automation.
• Translate business, policy and eligibility requirements into executable rules and decision logic.
• Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key decisions related to rules design and implementation.
• Provide solutions to complex rules and policy-related problems for the immediate team and across multiple teams.
• Perform rule analysis, dependency analysis, testing, debugging and impact analysis for policy changes.
• Collaborate with business and policy SMEs to validate rules and resolve requirement ambiguities.
• Support deployment, version management and production troubleshooting of policy models and decision services.
• Lead the development and implementation of best practices for rule development, testing and maintenance.
• Mentor and support team members to foster technical excellence and consistency in rules development.

What you'll need

• Minimum 5 years of experience is required.
• Must have: proficiency in Oracle Intelligent Advisor (OIA) and Oracle Policy Modeling.
• Strong hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex business rules and policy models.
• Experience with rule dependencies, decision logic, testing, debugging and rule lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of translating business/policy requirements into executable rules.
• Experience with eligibility determination or other complex rule-based decisioning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with business, policy and technical teams.
• Minimum 7.5 years of experience in business rules / decision management, with strong hands-on experience in Oracle Intelligent Advisor / Oracle Policy Automation.
• 15 years full time education.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating decision services with enterprise applications.
• Experience with Oracle Policy Automation (OPA) and Corticon.
• Experience with Integrated Eligibility, government benefits, SNAP, TANF, Medicaid or similar programs.
• Experience with large-scale Integrated Eligibility implementations.
