D&T Data Scientist II

Overview

General Mills (Digital and Technology India) is hiring a Data Scientist II for the Data Science team.

What you'll do

• Partner with lead data scientists and business stakeholders to deliver AI/ML-driven insights.
• Develop maintainable, scalable AI solutions using data science best practices.
• Collaborate with ML and systems engineers to deploy models, monitor performance, and address degradation.
• Engage stakeholders to clarify problem statements and drive measurable outcomes.
• Evaluate and compare approaches for solving team problems.
• Support evolution of data science standards, documentation, and team learning.
• Stay current on trends in data science, machine learning, and agentic AI and assess applicability.

What you'll need

• Total analytics experience of 6-8 years.
• Expertise in supervised ML including regression, decision trees, ensemble models, time series/forecasting, and neural networks.
• Exposure to unsupervised learning and NLP.
• Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform, SQL, Python, and R.
• Experience with linear, mixed integer, constraint, and nonlinear programming problems.
• Comfort designing heuristic algorithms or implementing heuristic approaches.
• Agile development experience with sprints, point estimation, and daily stand-ups.

Nice to have

• Knowledge and usage of agentic/generative tools.
