Overview
Data Analyst – Consultant/Senior Consultant in the POP HCP Analytics Product Team within Global Customer Insights & Analytics. Build governed data products and analyses that support brand goals across multiple therapeutic areas, while driving process improvement, innovation, and adoption of agentic AI ways of working.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain governed data objects, including tables, materialized views, and metric views, within Unity Catalog and the enterprise semantic layer.
- Support commercial analytics use cases across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Design and define key performance indicators and metrics for brand and commercial stakeholders using HCP prescribing behaviour, activity, patient journey, and claims-based datasets.
- Exercise sound judgment when data is incomplete or ambiguous.
- Contribute to agentic AI initiatives through feedback triage and quality checks.
- Participate across the full project lifecycle, including kick-off, methodology development, execution, insight generation, and results presentation.
- Collaborate with data engineering, data science, functional product, and business intelligence teams to resolve dependencies and open issues.
- Prioritize backlog items and identify technical debt and legacy dependencies.
- Design governed, reusable alternatives.
- Prepare analytical summaries and documentation, and communicate outputs and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Translate ambiguous or loosely defined business requirements into technical specifications and user stories within an Agile delivery framework.
- Use AI and agentic tools to automate documentation, code review, and repetitive tasks.
- Own data quality and validation for assigned data assets.
- Validate outputs against production baselines and maintain documentation, lineage, and version control.
- Investigate and root-cause data discrepancies, distinguish genuine defects from issues owned elsewhere, and propose fixes.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience carrying out the required responsibilities in pharma commercial/HCP analytics, claims-based analytics, or analytics in other industries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to break down ambiguous or loosely defined business questions into structured solutions.
- Working knowledge of Databricks, including Unity Catalog and Delta Lake.
- Advanced SQL for building and reviewing large-scale data objects.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and data concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Exposure to or strong interest in agentic AI/LLM-assisted engineering workflows that accelerate documentation, testing, and code review.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts for data pipelines, including version control and environment promotion across development, test, and production.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Ability to use sound judgment to prioritize and resolve issues with incomplete information.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with PySpark, Python, or SAS.
- Working knowledge of pharma claims data sources and U.S. HCP/patient-level analytics concepts.
- Experience with Agile delivery practices, including epics, stories, and sprint planning, in a data product environment.
- Traditional business intelligence tool experience with Power BI or Tableau.
- Exposure to building lightweight analytical front ends using frameworks such as Flask or Streamlit.
