Overview
Lead the electrical design for Anthropic’s data center facilities across a rapidly expanding US portfolio, from utility service entrance through to rack-level power delivery.
What you'll do
- Own electrical facility architecture and end-to-end electrical design across the US portfolio.
- Develop and maintain electrical basis of design, reference architectures, and specifications.
- Run and validate engineering studies (e.g., short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, power quality) to guide design and equipment selection.
- Review and approve electrical design packages and engineering submittals from build partners.
- Drive modular/prefabricated electrical strategies (modular skids, e-houses, prefabricated power assemblies) and standardize designs across sites.
- Support construction through commissioning: coordinate implementation, test/validate electrical systems, and resolve field issues.
- Coordinate with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, agencies, vendors, and contractors to meet regulatory and interconnection requirements.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities across the project lifecycle.
- Deep familiarity with US electrical codes/standards including NFPA 70/NEC.
- Hands-on experience designing for prefabricated and modular data center electrical infrastructure.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience producing/reviewing electrical construction documents and single-line diagrams.
- Fluency in power systems analysis and experience using tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
- Understand critical power topologies (e.g., 2N, N+1, distributed redundant, block redundant).
