Data Engineer

Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain data solutions that facilitate data generation, collection, and processing. You will build data foundations and end-to-end solutions for the Shell Business, support data-driven thinking, and deliver IT solutions from data strategy.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain data solutions for data generation, collection, and processing.
• Create data pipelines and ensure data quality.
• Implement ETL processes to migrate and deploy data across systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions that enhance data accessibility and usability.
• Design and build data foundations and end-to-end solutions for the Shell Business.
• Help create data-driven thinking within IT teams and the wider Business stakeholder community.
• Design and build data solutions as a subject matter expert.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Convert Vision and Data Strategy into IT solutions and deliver them.
• Pursue technology knowledge enhancement and understand work from multiple dimensions.
• Deliver the roll-out and embedding of Data Foundation initiatives in support of key business programmes.
• Coordinate the change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
• Present reports and findings to key stakeholders and act as the subject matter expert on Data Analysis & Design.
• Drive implementation efficiency and effectiveness across pilots and future projects to minimize cost, increase speed of implementation, and maximize value delivery.
• Contribute to community-building initiatives such as CoE and CoP.

• Data Integration & Ingestion.
• Data Manipulation and Processing.
• GITHUB, Action, Azure DevOps, Data factory, Databricks, SQL DB, Synapse, Stream Analytics, Glue, Airflow, Kinesis, and Redshift.
• Minimum 5 year(s) of experience is required.
• Minimum 6 year(s) of experience is required.
• 15 years full time education.
