Data Engineer II

Overview

Data Engineer II role in Mastercard’s Services organization, supporting data management for client engagements and delivering data solutions.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise ETL processes for data platforms for a global client base.
• Develop scalable, efficient code to process data and support timely availability and accessibility.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to address data challenges and maintain high data quality.
• Support data delivery alongside Data Engineers and Analysts for accurate, high-value solutions.
• Apply best practices such as version control, code reviews, and data validation.
• Use SQL and other database technologies to optimize data processing for large datasets.
• Automate routine data tasks and streamline processes.

What you'll need

• Experience as a Data Engineer (or similar) with strong data engineering understanding.
• Strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop, including SPARK and related technologies.
• Familiarity with ETL frameworks and building/maintaining data pipelines.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts and database design for scalable solutions.
• Familiarity with at least one scripting language (PowerShell or Python).
• Basic knowledge of testing and validating data for accuracy and consistency.
