Data Engineer III

Overview

Data Engineer III is a high-performing individual contributor role that mentors junior engineers, applies new data engineering principles to improve existing systems, and leads complex, well-defined projects.

What you'll do

• Mentor junior engineers.
• Apply data engineering principles to improve existing data systems.
• Lead complex, well-defined data engineering projects.
• Build, maintain, test, and monitor data pipelines/data products in production.
• Debug applications and fix issues within established SLAs.
• Design software that is testable and observable.

What you'll need

• Have 5+ years of experience for a Bachelor’s or 3+ years for a Master’s.
• Have software development experience in at least 3 different programming languages.
• Have built/maintained more than one data pipeline/data product in production.
• Have hands-on experience with large volumes of data and data ingestion/processing patterns (batch & real-time).
• Have hands-on experience working with at least 1 cloud technology.
• Have understanding of data structures and algorithms.
