Overview
Data Governance Analyst (Microsoft Purview) focused on building data findability, traceability, and trustworthiness through cataloguing, lineage, and data quality governance.
What you'll do
- Build, populate, and maintain the enterprise business glossary and data catalogue in Microsoft Purview.
- Administer Purview tooling so the catalogue does not decay after go-live.
- Capture and maintain end-to-end data lineage for critical data elements across the full pipeline.
- Establish change impact analysis to warn affected downstream reports, models, and consumers.
- Translate business risk into testable data quality rules and implement automated monitored checks with dashboards and thresholds.
- Support adoption of the governance framework by producing user-friendly documentation and guidance.
What you'll need
- Typically 3+ years of proven experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or an adjacent role.
- Hands-on experience of at least two of: business glossary, data catalogue, data lineage, or data quality.
- Desirable experience with Microsoft Purview.
- Practical experience implementing or configuring a data governance or cataloguing tool.
- Proven ability to bridge business and technology.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
