Data Scientist

Overview

Specialized Analytics role within the US Consumer Cards Digital Product Analytics team at Citi AIM, focused on improving digital servicing and marketing experiences through data science and GenAI.

What you'll do

• Drive digital marketing, product sales and engagement by developing and executing digital marketing strategies and analyzing user behavior and campaign performance.
• Optimize digital servicing channels (website and mobile app) by analyzing customer interaction data to identify friction points and reduce calls or chats.
• Apply Gen-AI powered analysis to agent calls and the customer's digital journey, and enhance chatbot performance.
• Design, develop and implement GenAI solutions using prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI models with LangChain and LangGraph.
• Use analytical intelligence to uncover insights that reduce cost-to-serve and improve efficiency across the customer lifecycle.
• Lead the industrialization and enhancement of the Test & Learn capability, including A/B testing, multivariate testing and other experimentation techniques.
• Interpret complex data sets to identify significant trends, patterns and anomalies, and translate them into clear, actionable insights for business partners and senior leadership.
• Identify and compile data sets using tools such as SQL, Python and PySpark to help predict, improve and measure business outcomes.
• Utilize statistical methods and analytical tools to extract meaningful insights from large and complex datasets.
• Document data requirements, data collection, processing and cleaning, and perform exploratory data analysis, which may include statistical models, algorithms and data visualization.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of working experience OR Master's Degree with 4 years of working experience.
• Hands-on experience in Python, SQL and Machine Learning (ML).
• Proficiency in GenAI technologies including prompt engineering, LangChain, LangGraph, RAG and the development of Agentic AI.
• Familiarity with GenAI governance principles and best practices to ensure responsible and compliant AI development.
• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code according to design specifications and coding standards.
• Ability to identify, clearly articulate and solve complex business problems and present them to management in a structured and simpler form.
• Hands-on experience working with large, complex, unstructured datasets, data warehouses, and pulling data using relevant programs and coding.
• Experience working and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
• Ability to build partnerships with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, organized, detail oriented, flexible and adaptive to a matrix work environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in Python, PySpark, Hive, Impala and SQL programming.
• Experience in Investment Analytics, Retail Analytics, Credit Cards, Services, Banking & Markets Financial Services.
• Knowledge of digital marketing and the Credit Card business, and industry best practices.
• Credit card business and P&L experience.
• Knowledge of Adobe, Test & Learn and other web analytics tools.
