Deputy Engineer - Transmission Lines

Overview

Deputy Engineer – Transmission Lines role within the Transmission & Distribution team in India, supporting energy transmission projects through technical study, design, review, estimates, and documentation.

What you'll do

• Provide specialized technical input to studies and designs for the discipline area of expertise.
• Develop study and design procedures to enable high-quality, cost-effective work by others.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts.
• Use expertise across steps of completing the discipline component of the PS&E package.
• Perform quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
• Prepare technical specification sections and contribute to engineering budget and schedule development.

What you'll need

• Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of work experience is preferred.
• Experience in transmission line structural design teams for UK&I National Grid is highly desirable.
• Experience in grid utility transmission line structural design is also considered.
• Exposure to international standards including IEC, IEEE, ANSI, Australian Standards, and Middle East region codes is preferred.
• Comfort with tools such as PLS CADD, PLS TOWER, PLS POLE, Staad Pro, Microstran, or similar is highly desirable.
• Very good English communication skills (oral and written) are mandatory.

• Hybrid employees are asked to work from an AECOM office at least three days per week.
• Newly hired employees must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
