Design Engineer- BMS Controls

Overview

Lead Building Management System global projects detailed engineering to country-specific standards from the India Engineering center, executing projects independently through the lifecycle and handling first-level escalation.

What you'll do

• Review MEP drawings and identify HVAC equipment, dampers and sensors
• Review control specifications and sequence of operations
• Generate initial review sheets and RFIs
• Create Bill of Material and select sensors, control valves, dampers, air flow stations, controllers and other control devices
• Perform controller wiring, terminations and interlock wiring
• Prepare I/O summary
• Prepare BMS network architecture
• Program supervisory and DDC level controllers, prepare test plan, perform simulation and deliver commissioning package to field from India Engineering center
• Ensure quality assurance and defect-free hardware and software package delivery
• Adhere to all processes and guidelines to execute projects within timeline

What you'll need

• BE/ME in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics or Electronics & Communication
• Knowledge of HVAC systems such as Chilled Water System, Cooling Towers, Primary & Secondary pumping systems, Hot Water System, different types of AHUs, FCUs and VAV systems
• Strong knowledge of BMS architecture, including different types of Operator workstations, Supervisory Controllers, DDC controllers, sensors and actuators
• Knowledge of network protocols such as BACNet, LON, Modbus, OPC and other protocols
• Proficient in wiring of starters, field devices, safety interlocks and panels
• Experience in engineering, installing and commissioning of HVAC and BMS systems for infrastructure projects such as pharmaceuticals, airports, commercial buildings and hospitals
• Quick learner with a keen eye for problem solving
• Proficient in written and verbal communication
• Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills

Nice to have

• Experience in Industrial Automation (PLC programming/SCADA)
• 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in Building Automation Industry, BMS Design Engineering or Industrial Automation
