Design Engineer-BMS Controls

Overview

Lead Building Management System (BMS) global projects detailed engineering to country-specific standards from the India Engineering center, executing projects independently through their lifecycle and handling first-level escalation.

What you'll do

• Lead BMS global projects detailed engineering as per country-specific standards from the India Engineering center.
• Execute projects independently throughout the lifecycle and handle first-level escalation.
• Follow processes, maintain required quality standards and deliver on time to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Review MEP drawings and identify HVAC equipment, dampers and sensors.
• Review control specifications and sequence of operations.
• Generate initial review sheets and RFIs.
• Create Bill of Materials and select sensors, control valves, dampers, airflow stations, controllers etc.
• Perform control device and controller wiring, terminations and interlock wiring.
• Prepare I/O summary.
• Prepare BMS network architecture.
• Program supervisory and DDC level controllers, prepare test plans, perform simulation and deliver commissioning packages to the field from the India Engineering center.
• Ensure quality assurance and defect-free hardware and software package delivery.
• Adhere to all processes and guidelines to execute projects within timeline.

What you'll need

• BE/ME in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics or Electronics & Communication.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems such as Chilled Water System, Cooling Towers, Primary & Secondary pumping systems, Hot Water System, different types of AHUs, FCUs, VAV systems etc.
• Strong knowledge of BMS architecture with different types of Operator workstations, Supervisory Controllers, DDC controllers, Sensors & Actuators etc.
• Knowledge of different types of network protocols such as BACnet, LON, Modbus, OPC and other protocols.
• Must be proficient in wiring of starters, field devices, safety interlocks & panels.
• Experience in engineering, installing and commissioning HVAC & BMS systems for infrastructure projects such as pharmaceuticals, airports, commercial buildings, hospitals.
• Must be a quick learner with a keen eye for problem solving.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in the field of Industrial Automation (PLC programming/SCADA).
• 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in Building Automation Industry, BMS Design Engineering or Industrial Automation.
