Design Engineer

Overview

Design Engineer role focused on shaping and shipping Libra’s AI workspace for legal professionals, moving from early exploration to production code.

What you'll do

• Design and ship product experiences from early concepts to polished production interfaces.
• Work in the front-end codebase via pull requests, code reviews, testing, and releases.
• Partner with Product Design and Product Engineering to shape feasible solutions from concept to implementation.
• Build functional prototypes to make complex ideas tangible and test assumptions quickly.
• Define interaction patterns for AI agents, legal documents, citations, generated content, and multi-step workflows.
• Translate design intent into reusable, responsive, accessible components and product patterns.

What you'll need

• Strong experience designing and building sophisticated digital products.
• Credibility in both product design and front-end implementation.
• Strong front-end fundamentals including TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Fluency in Figma and confidence working in GitHub and production codebases.
• Ability to take features from exploration and prototyping through to release and iteration.
• Strong product judgment to simplify complex, information-dense workflows.
• Understanding of responsive design, reusable components, scalable UI architecture, and WCAG accessibility standards.
