Overview
You’ll be a technical Developer Advocate who creates developer-facing content, builds hands-on code examples, and represents Backblaze at developer communities and events.
What you'll do
- Create tutorials, sample apps, reference architectures, blog posts, and short-form videos teaching developers how to build with Backblaze B2.
- Build and publish working code examples and demos for AI/ML workflows, media workflows, and application storage.
- Contribute to and improve developer documentation, SDKs, and quickstart guides.
- Represent Backblaze at developer events by speaking, demoing, and engaging in communities (social media, Discord, Slack, GitHub).
- Answer technical questions and sanity-check architectures for Flamethrower startup cohort members.
- Maintain a feedback loop from developers to Product with friction points, integration gaps, and unmet needs.
- Translate developer insights into actionable product feedback for Engineering and Product.
What you'll need
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience as a software developer or engineer.
- Meaningful time working with cloud infrastructure and object storage (S3, B2, GCS, or equivalent).
- Direct experience building or integrating AI/ML workflows involving storage (training data pipelines, artifact management, inference infrastructure, or similar).
- Ability to write working code and explain what you’re shipping to another developer.
- An established presence in developer communities (e.g., social following, conference talks, technical blog, open source contributions).
- Strong written communication to produce clear technical tutorials and internal summaries.
- Self-directed approach to know what to build next without a content calendar.
