Job description

Overview

The Digital Portfolio Analyst will optimize digital product and service offerings, align them with customer needs and market dynamics, and drive efficient portfolio performance within the Castrol digital portfolio.

What you'll do

  • Manage the end-to-end intake process for new digital demand requests.
  • Coordinate demand reviews with business and digital stakeholders.
  • Ensure requests contain sufficient business justification, scope, benefits, costs, and resource requirements.
  • Maintain and administer the portfolio demand pipeline.
  • Support prioritisation activities using agreed portfolio governance frameworks.
  • Track demand progression from idea through approval and delivery.
  • Maintain a consolidated view of all digital programmes, projects, and initiatives.
  • Produce regular portfolio reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
  • Monitor portfolio health across schedule, budget, risks, issues, benefits, and resource utilisation.
  • Analyse portfolio performance trends and identify areas requiring management intervention.
  • Support portfolio reviews and investment decision-making forums.
  • Ensure portfolio data quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Support governance processes across projects and programmes within the Castrol digital portfolio.
  • Coordinate stage gate reviews, steering committee meetings, and governance boards.
  • Monitor compliance with project delivery methodologies, standards, and controls.
  • Track governance actions, decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Assist project managers in preparing governance materials and reporting packs.
  • Ensure projects maintain appropriate documentation and audit readiness.
  • Maintain consolidated portfolio risk, issue, and dependency logs.
  • Monitor and escalate critical risks requiring leadership attention.
  • Support mitigation planning and follow-up actions.
  • Provide reporting and insights on cross-programme dependencies and impacts.
  • Support portfolio financial management activities, including forecasting and budget tracking.
  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Track portfolio resource demand and capacity information.
  • Assist with business case tracking and benefits realisation reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve portfolio management processes, governance frameworks, and reporting capabilities.
  • Support implementation of PMO best practices and governance standards.
  • Drive adoption of portfolio management tools and reporting automation where possible.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting portfolio, programme, or PMO functions within a complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of project, programme, and portfolio management principles.
  • Experience managing demand intake and portfolio governance processes.
  • Ability to produce high-quality management reporting and executive dashboards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience tracking risks, issues, dependencies, and portfolio performance metrics.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in portfolio management and reporting tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Project, Planview, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience within digital transformation, IT, or technology portfolios.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Exposure to enterprise portfolio management practices.
  • Experience working within complex global organisations.

  • Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.

Nice to have

  • PMO, PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, P3O, or equivalent certification.
  • Power BI or data analytics certification.

Details

  • Location: Pune, India.
  • Hybrid office/remote working.
  • Up to 10% travel should be expected.
  • Eligible for relocation within country.
