Director, Data Engineering

Overview

Director, Data Engineering leads the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure data pipelines, platforms, and ML/AI infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Lead scalable and secure data pipeline, platform, and ML/AI infrastructure delivery.
• Oversee integration of structured and unstructured data sources for analytics and AI initiatives.
• Evaluate and champion tools and technologies to improve data engineering productivity and scalability.
• Set and enforce data engineering best practices, standards, governance, and quality.
• Ensure data security, privacy, compliance, performance, scalability, and availability.
• Define, monitor, and report KPIs for data engineering outcomes.
• Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for data platform issues.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, OR 7+ years with an advanced degree, OR 4+ years with a PhD, OR 13+ years.
• Experience leading large-scale data engineering teams and projects in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with data architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and real-time data processing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop).
• Experience with data modeling, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience delivering data solutions that drive business outcomes.

• Location: Bengaluru, India.
• On-site requirement: at least 3 days in office (confirmed by the Hiring Manager).
