Director, Infrastructure Engineering

Overview

Lead Fiserv’s Platform Engineering function and Advanced Resolution Team, shaping internal developer platforms and improving infrastructure, CI/CD reliability, scalability, and developer velocity.

What you'll do

• Define and execute the strategic vision for Platform Engineering.
• Build and scale internal developer platforms and infrastructure components.
• Oversee CI/CD, Kubernetes, observability, service mesh, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and recovery during high-severity incidents.
• Establish monitoring, anomaly detection, and incident response strategies.
• Hire, mentor, and grow platform engineering and incident response teams.

What you'll need

• 15+ years of software, infrastructure, or platform engineering experience.
• At least 5 years in a Director-level-or-above leadership role.
• Experience leading platform engineering functions, infrastructure automation, and developer tooling.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, service mesh, Terraform, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.
• Experience leading advanced troubleshooting or SRE teams during critical incidents.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent military experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated industries such as fintech or financial GCCs.
• Familiarity with internal developer portals such as Backstage.
• PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or equivalent certification.
