Director of AI-Native Engineer

Overview

Director of AI-Native Engineering who will shape how AI-native development is done across Payoneer.

What you'll do

• Lead, grow, and scale multiple AI-native engineering teams (AI Pods).
• Define and drive AI-native engineering strategy, standards, and best practices.
• Own end-to-end delivery from problem definition to production.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives.
• Establish and enforce high standards for architecture, scalability, reliability, and code quality.
• Build evaluation, monitoring, and observability frameworks for AI systems.
• Act as a senior technical authority and mentor engineers and managers.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams and managers, including scaling organizations.
• Proven experience defining engineering strategy and leading large-scale initiatives.
• Hands-on backend or full-stack background with strong architectural skills.
• Experience building and scaling AI-based systems in production (e.g., agentic systems).
• Strong evaluation frameworks, metrics, and production monitoring understanding.
• Deep familiarity with modern AI development tools and workflows.
