Overview
Own US and Canada payroll operations end-to-end while leading and developing 1–2 direct reports in the US payroll team. Drive payroll compliance and process improvements, including Workday payroll configuration and AI-enabled automation.
What you'll do
- Run full-cycle US payroll processing for all US entities across multi-state and multi-frequency populations.
- Process complex equity compensation (RSUs, ISOs, NSOs) with accurate tax withholding and reporting.
- Manage high-volume payments including bonuses, commissions, severance, and equity events.
- Oversee quarter-end activities like W-2 preparation, year-end reconciliations, and resolution of tax notices.
- Maintain and improve Workday payroll configuration, identifying automation opportunities.
- Oversee Canada payroll operations in partnership with PwC Global Payroll Platform and develop CRA compliance expertise.
- Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Tax, Benefits, People Systems, and Employment Legal to ensure compliance and data integrity.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of payroll experience.
- At least 3 years in a senior or manager-level role owning US multi-state payroll end-to-end.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification.
- Direct people management experience managing at least one FTE on the US team.
- Strong Workday experience with the payroll module preferred, or HCM involvement with a path to Workday Payroll ownership.
- Deep familiarity with equity compensation processing and federal/state tax implications.
- Cross-functional experience with Finance/HR/Legal and ability to influence without authority.

- Hybrid policy: expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
