Overview

Director of Software Engineering (Backend) to lead the Partner Integrations Platform organization for subscriber authentication, authorization, and partner integration services.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering managers and teams owning partner authentication/identity/entitlement and partner onboarding services.
• Set platform direction and own the technical roadmap with milestones and measurable outcomes.
• Drive reliability and operational discipline for partner sign-in, activation, and entitlement on the critical path.
• Establish operational practice including SLIs/SLOs, dashboards, alerting, runbooks, and incident response.
• Reduce integration delivery effort via consolidation/modernization and config-driven handling of new partner models.
• Deliver tooling and APIs that enable partner-facing self-service for end-to-end subscriber journeys.

What you'll need

• 15-17 years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering managers and large engineering teams.
• Experience managing managers.
• Strong grounding in API design/versioning, identity & access, and federated authentication/authorization.
• Operational excellence experience including incident management, monitoring, SLOs, runbooks, and automation.
• Ability to lead platform programs across multiple teams, time zones, and stakeholder groups.

Nice to have

• Experience in streaming media, pay TV distribution, subscription commerce, or partner/affiliate ecosystems.
• Familiarity with TV Everywhere or operator-based authentication and entitlement models.
• Experience building self-service partner/developer platforms including sandbox, emulation, and certification tooling.
• Experience running/partnering with operations supporting a large external partner base.
• Experience introducing AI-assisted engineering practices with measurable outcomes.
