Overview

Director of Software Engineering to lead engineering for Cisco’s Email Threat Defense, including gen AI improvements to the SDLC and AI adoption.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering efforts for Email Threat Detection software in security space.
• Drive gen AI-based improvements to the SDLC and AI adoption with teams.
• Add customer-facing AI/LLM functionality to threat detection products.
• Apply threat detection and security capabilities to secure AI agents.
• Own some SRE/observability responsibilities outside threat detection.
• Set technical vision for threat detection with Product Management and Design.
• Guide teams in defining short-, medium-, and long-term goals.

What you'll need

• At least 10 years of software engineering experience building cloud-based and on-prem applications.
• At least 7 years leading multiple high-performing software engineering teams for cloud and on-prem applications.
• Experience partnering with Design, Data Science, Security, SRE, or Product Management to deliver usable and secure software.
• Track record leading teams through AI-driven changes in the SDLC and driving AI adoption/product integration.
• Prior experience leading teams working on observability.

Nice to have

• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and architecting scalable infrastructure.
• Experience leading organizations of 50+ engineers with global distribution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
