Technical Engineering Director

Overview

Technical Engineering Director for PwC’s TIDE team, leading a portfolio of tax technology applications with a hands-on mandate to stabilize and modernize systems.

What you'll do

• Lead an initial team of 30+ engineers across multiple tax technology applications.
• Design and implement end-to-end solution architectures for large-scale platforms.
• Make local technical decisions on architecture, tooling, patterns, and trade-offs.
• Troubleshoot high-severity issues and pair with engineers on complex problems.
• Drive engineering quality and reliability (testing, deployment reliability, incident response).
• Establish operational reporting for production health, delivery velocity, quality, and technical debt.
• Drive AI adoption, including LLM integration and AI-assisted engineering workflows.

What you'll need

• 18+ years of software engineering experience with progressive technical leadership.
• Proven ability to lead teams of 30+ engineers across multiple workstreams.
• Hands-on capability to architect, code, debug, and deploy.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable).
• Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and API design.
• Experience with .NET/C#, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python at enterprise scale.
• Deep understanding of distributed/global team models (US + India collaboration).

• Location: Bangalore.
• Travel requirements: up to 20%.
