Job description

Overview

The EHS Project Manager leads cross-functional EHS digital projects, system enhancements, RFPs and Global EHS strategic initiatives from planning through delivery and transition to ongoing support.

What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end intake process for EHS Digital projects and programs, including request capture, initial assessment, clarification of business need, strategic alignment, urgency, value, complexity, dependencies and delivery readiness.
  • Coordinate intake, discovery, prioritization and planning with business owners and COE partners; translate requests into clear requirements, acceptance criteria, decisions and delivery plans.
  • Maintain integrated project plans, schedules, decision records, and risk, issue and change logs; monitor progress, manage dependencies and escalate barriers early.
  • Coordinate delivery across requirements, solution design, configuration or development, integrations, testing, user acceptance, release readiness, deployment and transition to ongoing support.
  • Lead or support requests for proposal (RFPs), including requirements development, vendor coordination, evaluation plans, stakeholder reviews, recommendation documentation and transition into project delivery.
  • Manage projects supporting Global and Functional EHS strategic initiatives and goals, aligning objectives, workstreams, milestones, owners and progress measures with business priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across EHS, Technology, Data Analysis and Reporting, Systems, MDM, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Finance, business process owners, site teams and vendors to ensure timely completion of actions, deliverables and decisions.
  • Provide project management support to the Data Analysis and Reporting, Systems and MDM teams as needed, including planning, stakeholder coordination, requirements and roadmap tracking, data governance activities, dependency management and delivery follow-through.
  • Coordinate organizational change, communications, training, user readiness, deployment readiness, adoption tracking and stakeholder feedback so that new systems, processes and capabilities are embedded effectively.
  • Prepare project updates and governance materials, monitor delivery and post-launch outcomes, facilitate lessons learned, and ensure decisions, requirements, testing evidence and handover materials are documented.
  • Conduct and facilitate FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) assessments for incoming EHS initiatives to evaluate business need, risk, value, feasibility, dependencies, resource requirements and implementation considerations, using the outcome to support prioritisation and development of the project charter.

What you'll need

  • Over all 8-13 years of experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in project management, information systems, environmental health and safety, engineering, business, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • At least 9 years of experience managing projects or programs, preferably involving business systems, digital products, data or process transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects from requirements through implementation, manage dependencies and changing priorities, and deliver through influence in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience translating stakeholder needs into clear requirements, project plans, acceptance criteria and decision materials.
  • Experience managing project plans, priorities, risks, issues, dependencies and governance across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, organization and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work effectively with technical teams, business users, leaders and vendors.
  • Experience using project planning and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Jira, or equivalent platforms.

Nice to have

  • Experience in EHS, Engineering, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or another regulated operating environment.
  • Experience managing enterprise system implementations, enhancements, integrations, reporting solutions or master data initiatives.
  • Experience managing enterprise EHS system implementations, enhancements, integrations, reporting and analytics solutions, master data initiatives, or process-standardisation programmes.
  • Experience coordinating RFPs, vendor evaluations, statements of work, or procurement and contracting processes.

  • Familiarity with EHS platforms, analytics tools, master data management or enterprise technology governance.
  • Experience supporting Global and Functional initiatives in a matrixed or multi-site organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, support change management and deliver high-quality, user-focused solutions.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across business and technical teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Professional certifications in project management such as PMP, CAPM, Agile/Scrum, or related disciplines.
