Overview

Electrical Engineer 2 in the Manufacturing Engineering Department at Lam India, Bangalore, designing electronic power and control solutions for manufacturing fixtures, outriggers and test equipment.

What you'll do

• Provide module and sub-system level power and control solutions for complex equipment (fixtures, outriggers, test equipment) across all phases of manufacturing.
• Conduct and drive successful design reviews to gain buy-in from cross-functional teams and stakeholders for new design concepts.
• Support sustaining engineering activities, including cable assembly schematic and system interconnect schematic design, and mistake-proofing of designs (e.g. poka-yoke of connectors and cables).
• Provide resolution to PRs and accurate, timely resolution of design-related production issues encountered during fixture and test equipment build.
• Ensure adherence to design standards and schedules, maintaining on-time delivery with quality as part of KPIs.
• Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to communicate design intent, analysis and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering, with 4 to 8 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in creating engineering requirement specifications, developing power and control architecture, component selection, and interface, control and monitoring of I/O peripherals such as motors, RF generators and pressure/flow sensors.
• Expertise in delivering end-to-end (concept to production) controls solutions, such as PLC, for electrical and electro-mechanical systems and subsystems and power distribution.
• Ability to prepare and analyze test plans and procedures to ensure technical and operational requirements are met and demonstrated.
• Must have worked on an electrical engineering CAD tool such as OrCAD, Zuken or an equivalent CAD package for circuit design and simulation.
• Expertise in Engineering Change Management.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver and implement projects on time.

Nice to have

• Experience with capital equipment or similar industries (e.g. process industries, medical instrumentation, automotive, aircraft) in a sub-system or module design project.
• Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electro-mechanical, software, process, manufacturing engineers) on major projects in a multinational work environment.
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, automation software and Python programming is desirable.

Details

• Location: Bangalore, India (Lam India, Manufacturing Engineering Department).
• Works closely with Pilot and HVME manufacturing engineers, test engineers and industrial engineers across global build facilities.
• Work mode: hybrid. On-site Flex roles require 3+ days per week on-site with remote work for the balance; Virtual Flex roles require 1-2 days per week on-site with remote work the rest of the time. The ad does not state which applies to this role.
