Electro Mechanical Design Engineer - HVDC

Overview

Electro Mechanical Design Engineer for HVDC, based at the INOPC-PG Operation Center in Chennai.

What you'll do

• Deliver CAD activities on time and to required quality standards using CAD/CAM/CAE tools.
• Apply electromechanical design principles, guidelines, and standards for HVDC and HV/UHV AC substations.
• Perform substation layout design and produce installation drawings and detailed connector/insulator design.
• Provide technical support for FAT, installation, and commissioning of HVDC projects.
• Support engineering proposals/presentations with bills of materials and estimated engineering hours.
• Prepare project documentation within scope and obtain customer approvals for designs/drawings.
• Interact with customers, contractors, and other staff to meet delivery timelines and quality expectations.

What you'll need

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in primary layout design for electrical UHV/EHV substation projects.
• Knowledge of standards and design principles for electromechanical HVDC substation design.
• 3D modeling software knowledge, including Autodesk Revit or ACC and Unigraphics NX/TC.
• Proficiency in English language.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
