Emulation Engineer

Overview

Set up and configure emulation and virtual platform environments to validate hardware designs, run software before tape-in, and support pre-silicon verification of complex chip systems.

What you'll do

• Develop, debug, and maintain functional simulation models using Simics.
• Run firmware, drivers, and operating systems on virtual platforms.
• Isolate software, firmware, and hardware-model failures using debugging tools.
• Analyze system performance and optimize simulation efficiency.
• Create Python and Simics scripts for automated runs, regressions, and test scenarios.
• Collaborate with RTL designers, architects, and software teams on system-level verification.

What you'll need

• Minimum 3 years of experience is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in pre-silicon Simics simulation engineering is stated in the additional requirements.
• Experience in pre-silicon verification, simulation, or emulation.
• Hands-on experience with Intel Simics or similar technologies such as QEMU or SystemC.
• Knowledge of computer architecture and operating-system concepts.
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++.
• Experience with GDB, Simics Debugger, and low-level software-hardware debugging.
