Engineer- Flow & Thermal

Overview

Perform flow and thermal analysis of transformers, fuses, switchgear, UPS and circuit protection devices and allied electrical products to predict thermal performance, working with teams in India, Europe, US and China.

What you'll do

• Perform flow and thermal analysis of transformers, fuses, switchgear, UPS and circuit protection devices and allied electrical products for thermal performance prediction.
• Partner with teams located in India, Europe, US and China to understand specific design intent.
• Develop and validate analysis models to substantiate various engineering designs.
• Handle medium complex technologies related to conjugate heat transfer, flow estimation and electronics cooling, independently delivering quality results within stipulated timelines.
• Validate analytical predictions with physical testing to mature DP capabilities.
• Coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders following project management best practices.
• Contribute towards maturing identified technical capabilities in the flow and thermal domain from the ES Americas portfolio.
• Work closely with product and analysis experts to develop and validate digital prototypes that mimic product physics and predict key CTQs.
• Ensure Analysis First deployment on low/medium complex electrical components and assemblies.
• Highlight technical and schedule risks on assigned low/medium complex programs and work towards mitigating them.
• Work with SMEs to effectively support simulation requests and manage workload.
• Participate in ES Americas level initiatives and contribute through solid value add.
• Learn DFSS fundamentals and implement them on programs.
• Embrace continuous improvement initiatives and demonstrate consistent increase in value from project deliverables.
• Create valuable IP to expand innovation envelope for organization growth.

What you'll need

• Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Fluids and Thermal from a reputed institute.
• 0-6 months of Thermal, CFD, Fluid Engineering, Heat Transfer or Simulation Tools experience.
• Strong background in heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• Thorough understanding of CFD analysis fundamentals and 1D models.
• CFD, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and simulation tool expertise.
• Conversant with different products within the electrical portfolio.
