Engineer I - Cloud Support Engineer

Overview

Engineer I – Cloud Support Engineer is a hands-on, entry-level cloud operations role within LPL’s Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE), supporting an AWS multi-account landing zone.

What you'll do

• Triage inbound tickets from application teams via Jira and ServiceNow against defined SLAs.
• Execute runbooks for known incident classes and help keep them accurate.
• Fulfill well-scoped account, IAM, and access requests using Account Factory for Terraform and the private Terraform module library.
• Act as a supported first-line responder in the 24x7 on-call rotation, escalating early when out of scope.
• Participate in change-management execution, including change-window participation and ServiceNow change-record discipline under senior review.
• Use agentic AI capabilities to assist ticket triage, runbook lookup/generation, and internal self-service workflows.
• Work on well-scoped Terraform changes and AWS console/CLI tasks under close guidance.

What you'll need

• 1+ years of technical experience in cloud, infrastructure, or software engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
• Foundational AWS exposure and willingness to learn Terraform in a private module ecosystem delivered via Terraform Cloud and GitHub Actions.
• Ability to complete well-scoped technical tasks under guidance with reliable follow-through.
• Willingness to participate in 24x7 production on-call rotations as a supported first-line responder.
• Familiarity with an ITSM/ticketing workflow (Jira, ServiceNow, or comparable) and strong customer-service orientation.
