Engineer - Mechanical

Overview

Engineer - Mechanical responsible for leading cost-out projects related to turned parts, fasteners and machining as part of the Direct Material Productivity team at EIIC. The role collaborates with the Global Procurement Organization, product divisions, suppliers and global cross-functional teams to identify, develop and maintain executable cost-out opportunities.

What you'll do

• Identify and lead cost-out projects related to turned parts, fasteners and machining.
• Collaborate with the Global Procurement Organization and product divisions to generate cost-out opportunities.
• Identify, develop and maintain services that deliver significant cost-out opportunities.
• Create a robust pipeline of executable cost-out projects.
• Analyze commodity spend data and leverage data analytics and ideation principles to create new project cost-out opportunities.
• Execute strategic resourcing, negotiation and part rationalization to achieve measurable cost-out goals.
• Generate technically and commercially viable ideas to reduce overall product cost and improve market competitiveness.
• Drive productivity through supplier consolidations, key data improvements and avoiding part proliferation.
• Identify and develop reusable knowledge nuggets to run data analysis for other projects.
• Participate in supplier discussions to generate new ideas and solutions for cost-out.

What you'll need

• A Bachelor or Masters in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in a technical engineering organization.
• 3-5 years of experience with a multinational engineering organization.
• Component-level design and development knowledge, including its application and suppliers.
• Hands-on knowledge of Value Engineering principles and their deployment.
• Ability to work and interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external customers and suppliers.
