Engineer - Quality

Overview

Engineer - Quality role in Coimbatore supporting supplier quality, process improvement and quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

• Drive supplier development in manufacturing or service processes, working with suppliers to continuously improve performance, implement process controls and develop quality assurance plans.
• Initiate corrective action requests as needed and track them to satisfactory completion.
• Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
• Assist with development and implementation of quality audits.
• Manage part and component qualification through PPAP and FAI across the product lifecycle.
• Lead supplier qualification, assess risks, define process parameters, and verify supplier capability against engineering requirements.
• Support new product launches by ensuring supplier quality compliance.
• Follow up with suppliers for root cause analysis and corrective actions on quality issues.
• Review and improve supplier manufacturing processes, driving value and efficiency.
• Promote continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, MSA, and PFMEA techniques.
• Manage and coordinate supplier Material / Non-Material cost recovery for supplier quality issues.
• Ensure readiness for internal and external audits, assisting in quality audits.
• Undertake special projects as required and provide data-driven decision support wherever needed.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience.
• Basic quality and Excel knowledge.
• Knowledge of Quality Core Tools.
• Knowledge of Incoming, In-process and Final Quality.
• Knowledge of ISO/IATF regulations and requirements.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
