Engineering Manager

Overview

Engineering Manager for the Core Technology group, leading and mentoring engineering teams to improve development processes, quality, and codebase scalability.

What you'll do

• Lead a team of engineers through regular 1:1s, career mapping, and performance coaching.
• Own and refine the technical development process to reduce toil and cognitive load.
• Champion high-quality engineering practices including TDD, AI-augmented development, and documentation-as-code.
• Drive technical quality through constructive code reviews and design discussions.
• Lead internal-first initiatives such as tech debt reduction, architectural refactors, and API standardization.
• Provide low-level technical oversight via participation in architecture reviews and coaching.

What you'll need

• 3+ years managing/leading engineering teams.
• Backend engineering foundation using modern languages such as Java or Golang.
• Ability to implement technical standards and development workflows that increase velocity without added bureaucracy.
• Experience partnering with Product and Program teams to scope and prioritize technical solutions.
• Ability to balance feature demands with engineering-first needs of a healthy codebase.
