Engineering Manager

Overview

Lead the Product Trust engineering team at Postman, responsible for building the security, compliance and governance features of the Postman platform, from product direction and technical architecture through delivery.

What you'll do

• Provide technical leadership for architecture, helping teams build highly secure, scalable, reliable and performant systems that serve hundreds of millions of developers.
• Work with Staff and principal engineers to identify and review key technical designs for consistency with architecture and business needs.
• Lead the team to deliver multiple projects in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Build an operational center of excellence with effective observability, scale and performance considerations, and a focus on quality.
• Partner with other engineering and product leaders to prioritize work and create a balanced roadmap.
• Work closely with senior leadership to drive org design, set and execute the roadmap, and influence strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on goals, drive engineering initiatives and create broad organizational impact.
• Regularly communicate progress, challenges, strategic initiatives and the team's security posture to senior leadership.
• Hold regular 1:1s, understand what motivates team members, and craft professional growth paths aligned with organizational goals.
• Provide regular feedback, coaching and support, and build a high-performance, cohesive team.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at Postman's scale.
• Proficiency with one or more programming languages (JavaScript, NodeJS, Java).
• 3 years of experience leading, mentoring and managing a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering career development.
• Strong experience with security offerings such as vault store, token scanning, cryptography, etc.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects with a meaningful impact on the business.
• Exceptional problem-solving, design and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated experience designing highly scalable systems.

Details

• Location: Hyderabad, India.
• In-office work is expected; Bangalore-based employees currently work in the office three days a week, transitioning to five days per week by the end of the year.
