Engineering Manager – China

Overview

Engineering Manager for a remote team in China, leading engineers who build and scale production products for millions of users across the region.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage engineers across frontend, backend, and full-stack development.
• Own engineering delivery for major product areas with reliable, high-quality releases.
• Collaborate with product, design, mobile, backend, and AI teams to turn ambiguous needs into technical execution.
• Drive architecture and engineering decisions across APIs, databases, integrations, infrastructure, and customer-facing systems.
• Set standards for code quality, system design, testing, observability, security, and production reliability.
• Monitor production outcomes, resolve incidents, identify root causes, and prevent recurrence.

What you'll need

• Strong software engineering background shipping real production systems.
• Experience leading/managing software engineers and owning engineering delivery.
• Technical depth across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to make sound architecture and technical trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
• Track record taking products/systems from idea through development, launch, and production.
• Strong people leadership for coaching, performance management, and team building.
• Comfort working with ambiguity, establishing priorities, and driving to clear outcomes.
