Engineering Manager

Overview

Engineering Manager role in Institutional Banking & Markets at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, leading delivery of software applications and systems, including data platforms and CI/CD delivery processes.

What you'll do

• Take up challenges and deliver software solutions.
• Work within the Data Delivery Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.
• Work with teams to design and improve the CI/CD delivery process, ensuring software is tested for quality, security vulnerabilities, code styles and functionality.
• Manage support teams and rosters.
• Learn the software development landscape within the technology group.

What you'll need

• Minimum 14 years of experience.
• Significant Big Data and ETL experience using Spark, Scala, Hadoop, Hive, Autosys, and AWS-based data platforms.
• Strong database/data warehouse skills covering Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, performance tuning, relational modelling, Teradata, Snowflake and DBT.
• Experience with BI/analytics technologies, including Tableau and Teradata Control Framework.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix, Bash, PowerShell, networking, security, and data protection.
• Extensive AWS experience, including EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, and building scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant architectures.
• Hands-on CI/CD experience with tools such as GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Jenkins, and AWS CodePipeline.
• Containerization/orchestration knowledge using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in both cloud and on-prem CI/CD delivery tools.
• Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.

Nice to have

• Experience in Object Oriented Programming languages.
