Senior Manager - Engineering Excellence

Overview

Senior Manager, Engineering Excellence focused on improving engineering effectiveness across the end-to-end software development lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Improve engineering flow and delivery effectiveness across planning, development, integration, testing, release, and production.
• Establish an engineering flow and delivery health baseline and identify constraints using DORA metrics or equivalents.
• Lead targeted interventions to remove bottlenecks and improve measurable engineering outcomes.
• Design and strengthen the end-to-end SDLC operating model with workflows, ownership, quality gates, handoffs, and escalation paths.
• Advance DevOps/DevSecOps capabilities by partnering on CI/CD, automation, release management, and observability for secure delivery.
• Provide strategic direction for Quality Engineering and test automation, including shift-left quality and risk-based validation.
• Enable AI-assisted engineering by scaling responsible AI use cases and measuring productivity/quality/cycle-time/developer-experience outcomes.

What you'll need

• 14+ years of experience with a software-engineering or engineering-enablement/DevOps/platform engineering/quality engineering foundation.
• Experience improving engineering outcomes across multiple teams.
• Experience leading cross-team engineering transformation and delivery/engineering improvement initiatives.
• Experience establishing baselines, finding bottlenecks, running interventions, and demonstrating measurable improvements.
• Strong understanding of capacity allocation, delivery predictability, developer productivity, technical debt, and engineering trade-offs.
• Technical credibility across modern CI/CD, DevOps/DevSecOps, software delivery, and Quality Engineering practices.
• Experience defining and using engineering metrics, scorecards, or dashboards for continuous improvement.
