Engineering Manager in Back End (Gurugram based relocation provided)

Overview

Engineering Manager for Back End Engineering at Agoda, leading one or more engineering teams with hands-on development and strong people leadership.

What you'll do

• Be hands on with writing and reviewing code.
• Provide expert coaching and guidance to engineers.
• Lead development across multiple parts of the technology stack (infrastructure, client, back end, performance, data).
• Develop people by inspiring engineers to achieve their potential.
• Integrate external A-players into the business.

What you'll need

• Be extremely proficient in at least one programming language (Java, Scala, C#).
• Have strong experience in systems architecture for complex scalable fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Show demonstrable experience owning systems with operational responsibility.
• Have proficiency in lower-level engineering (garbage collection, context switching, threading).
• Demonstrate DevOps culture with Agility, leanness, automation, and CI/CD.
• Have good understanding of application security.
• Have run engineering teams before with 5+ direct reports.
