Engineering Mechanical Engineer

Overview

Engineer or Senior Engineer role in the GTC Light Simulation central discipline (PG Mechanics & Simulation) at Valeo, focused on FEM model building, simulation setup and reporting to validate the mechanical behaviour of automotive products.

What you'll do

• Apply FEM model building, case set up (Ansys Workbench) and reporting.
• Ensure the quality of the meshing model according to the standard checklist and simulation request for non-linear, vibration, fatigue, thermo-mechanical and multi-physics fields.
• Apply a standard simulation method based on the developing CAE process.
• Apply a standard simulation report for project risk analysis.
• Validate design solutions and correlate calculations to measurements.
• Perform vibration simulations using engineering analysis tools as an individual contributor, with a focus on design and development.
• Participate in product and project reviews to ensure high quality in simulation method and accuracy of results.
• Present simulation results in project reviews to drive decision making.
• Communicate results and issues effectively, verbally and in written reports.
• Establish correlations and validations.
• Support methodology development and simulation tool applications; participate in defining best practices and methodology improvements.
• Store reports in TMT and participate in QRQC resolution.
• Apply procedures and Environmental, Safety and Security good practices, know the potential risks and their consequences, and know the associated action plans.
• Perform other tasks assigned by N+1 from time to time.

What you'll need

• ME/M.Tech degree with mechanical knowledge.
• 2-3 years of professional experience.
• Experience in the automotive or mechanical industry.
• Knowledge of material mechanical behaviour: plastic.
• CAD understanding and analysis/meshing tools knowledge: CATIA, Design Modeller, ANSYS Workbench, Machine learning, Deep learning.
