Overview
Engineering Program Manager responsible for managing software programs, complex solutions and releases for Cisco Networking Engineering across cross-functional teams and geographic regions.
What you'll do
- Manage cross-functional programs and deliver software for Cisco Networking Engineering.
- Manage software programs, complex solutions and releases in close collaboration with cross-functional teams spanning geographic regions, product areas and functions.
- Plan requirements, develop timelines, identify risks and mitigate risks to product deliveries in agile, waterfall or hybrid environments.
- Drive technical tradeoff discussions with cross-functional leaders across Cisco.
- Drive process improvements and implement guidelines and standards.
- Optimize program planning and development.
- Support other Program Managers in driving end-to-end engineering planning and development across multiple product and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with customers, partners and team members across Cisco globally.
- Control cross-functional dependencies and program execution, ensuring project completion on schedule, with quality and within budget constraints.
- Track KPIs, results, breakthroughs, action items, technical dependencies, risks and mitigation plans across programs and solutions.
- Use industry-standard software quality measurements, defect tracking and categorization methodologies, and testing methodologies to track quality.
- Collate information across disparate activities and distill it into clear communications for senior leaders and executives.
- Adapt to change, proactively manage risks, clear roadblocks and drive outcomes with product management and engineering.
- Drive alignment with technology and business goals.
What you'll need
- Engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, or Master's degree with 10+ years experience with 5+ years in program management.
- Experience in waterfall, agile or hybrid methodologies.
- Stakeholder leadership skills.
- Ability to drive multiple engineering programs.
- Experience in ALM tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Solid experience in product development lifecycle management, SDLC methodologies, software release management, software product engineering, deployment and integration, and tracking execution with JIRA.
- Demonstrable experience identifying, analyzing and resolving program issues and driving end-to-end program execution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

- Ability to make informed decisions and prioritize tasks based on business objectives and constraints.
