Engineering Program Manager (Private 5G/Wireless)

Overview

Lead cross-functional software and cloud programs for Campus and Branch, covering Private 5G and Wireless, from concept through delivery. Opportunity to work on hardware programs as needed.

What you'll do

• Lead cross-functional teams across SW and Cloud programs delivering features
• Manage multiple programs simultaneously
• Establish and manage cross-functional teams across PLM, SW, Systest, Technical publications and customer service to drive deliverables across all NPI PLC phases
• Identify cross-functional interdependencies and risks, and plan and manage them
• Lead various levels of team members, managers and executives to deliver NPI programs
• Update and maintain program status, milestones, budget, risk and program schedule regularly
• Communicate program status and drive escalations with senior leadership to keep scope, schedule and budget within tolerance
• Review and optimize the critical path and schedule across multiple interrelated projects and materializing risks
• Lead and drive HW programs and critical initiatives as needed
• Manage scope, budget estimates (headcount and non-headcount) and schedule
• Present to executives

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
• 8-10 years of experience in an IT product-based company, preferably in a Telecom/Networking domain
• 5+ years of program management experience, preferably with 3+ years leading SW
• Demonstrated experience handling multiple concurrent complex projects from concept stage to delivery
• Excellent technical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Expert in using JIRA, Confluence, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Project/Smartsheet
• Experience using document repositories and managing document access

Nice to have

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Scrum Master (SCM) certification

• Onsite; primarily work from an HPE office
• Not a remote job
• Relocation is not available
• Very minimal travel
• No direct reports or people management responsibilities
