Engineering Team Lead, Managed K8s

Overview

Lead the Managed Kubernetes engineering team while remaining hands-on with architecture and complex technical work. Own the Kubernetes product end to end, including its control plane, GPU scheduling, provisioning, and infrastructure lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Design and ship the Kubernetes control plane, including scheduling, operators, provisioning, and node lifecycle.
• Manage, hire, coach, and develop engineers through feedback and growth paths.
• Own control-plane reliability and lead incident decisions.
• Automate the path from bare metal to on-demand Kubernetes clusters.
• Partner with Product Managers on priorities, scope, and tradeoffs.
• Define team processes and execution rituals.

What you'll need

• At least 2 years of people-leadership experience managing engineers.
• Production experience shipping systems in Go.
• Hands-on experience running Kubernetes and working directly with Linux.
• Experience with Kubernetes operators, schedulers, or controllers.
• Experience running GPU workloads on Kubernetes or confidence owning the domain quickly.
• Extensive backend or infrastructure systems experience.
• Experience partnering with product, design, and business teams to ship software to users.

• Approximately half the role is technical architecture and implementation, and half is team leadership.
