Engineering Team Lead, Sandbox

Overview

Lead the Sandbox engineering team building secure, isolated, network-controlled environments for AI agents and reinforcement-learning workloads. The role combines people leadership with architecture and hands-on work in Go.

What you'll do

• Build isolation layers using microVMs or containers, namespaces, cgroups, seccomp, and snapshot/restore.
• Own the security boundary for untrusted customer code.
• Scale environment creation, density, and lifecycle management across thousands of concurrent environments.
• Write Go and make architecture and implementation decisions.
• Hire, coach, and develop engineers.
• Manage performance, growth paths, and feedback for the team.
• Partner with Product Managers to turn research needs into shippable primitives.

What you'll need

• 8+ years building backend or infrastructure systems.
• 2+ years of people leadership managing engineers.
• Deep knowledge of Linux internals, including namespaces, cgroups, seccomp, and virtualization.
• Production experience shipping systems in Go.
• Understanding of network isolation at the packet level.
• Experience with performance profiling and syscall costs.
• Experience partnering with product, design, and business teams to ship software to users.
