Overview
Lead Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) execution across Anthropic’s EMEA region, owning day-to-day EHS activities and helping build and localize EMEA safety programs.
What you'll do
- Run onsite inspections, hazard and risk assessments, and ergonomic reviews on a regular cadence across EMEA sites.
- Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
- Manage occupational health cases through their lifecycle with occupational health providers, HR, and Legal partners.
- Stand up and support health and safety committees and emergency response teams aligned to local jurisdiction requirements.
- Co-build EMEA versions of core EHS programs (e.g., emergency action plans, fire safety, ergonomics, contractor/vendor safety, occupational health, training).
- Coordinate fire safety by managing Fire Risk Assessments, tracking remediation, and supporting Responsible Person/duty-holder requirements.
- Manage hazardous materials onsite and support indoor air quality, water safety (including Legionella), and lighting standards tied to ergonomics and design.
What you'll need
- 7+ years of experience in roles with similar EHS responsibilities, owning EHS for a region or serving as the lead in your geography.
- Strong working knowledge of EHS regulatory frameworks across the UK and Ireland (HSE, HSA).
- Working knowledge of fire safety regulation and compliance across Europe, including Fire Risk Assessments and duty-holder responsibilities.
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear decisions and push back when something isn’t safe.
- Ability to motivate and persuade others to collaborate and engage with EHS programs.
- Hands-on experience with software tools for EHS incident reporting, risk assessment, learning management, and related functions.
- Intermediate/strong writing skills to create SOPs, playbooks, program documents, and training presentations.
