ERP Business Analyst - Management Accounting

Overview

Technical Consultant role bridging business and IT for global cost controlling and management accounting within the S/4HANA environment, translating business needs into SAP functional specifications and technical roadmaps within the SAFe methodology.

What you'll do

• Consult teams and squads on diverse offerings, shaping strategy for complex products and managing prioritization and status reporting across the enterprise.
• Maintain deep knowledge of SAP FI CO (Cost Center Accounting; Profit Center Accounting; Project System; Profitability Analysis; CATS and Service Management), including driving integration and interfaces with other landscapes.
• Drive innovative solutions for complex challenges, influencing strategy and contributing to organizational growth.
• Drive global template implementations, localization of processes and compliance with financial needs to ensure ICFR and other compliance requirements are met.
• Manage high-level relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment and managing expectations.
• Communicate complex and strategic information, issues, and solutions across the enterprise, tailoring messaging to the audience.
• Analyze business needs and translate them into detailed requirements for implementations and roll-outs to affiliates.
• Deliver high-quality Features and User Stories using tools such as Jira, ServiceNow and Solman.
• Independently create system configurations and manage enhancements related to data reporting and storage.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions in SAP FICO, Cost Controlling and Management Accounting (CCA/PCA/PS/CO-PA).
• Proven track record of at least 2 full-cycle SAP implementations (go-live experience).
• Knowledge of finance and cost controlling processes.
• Proven experience integrating SAP FICO with other enterprise applications (middleware and interfaces: APIs, Blackline / Smartclose / SAC / MyCo) and FIORI.
• Proven track record of shaping domain-level strategies and influencing high-impact decisions with enterprise-wide implications.
• Extensive experience implementing cutting-edge, value-adding technologies and technology uptake roadmaps.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage expectations and align diverse groups (scientists, engineers, executives) towards a common goal.
• Strong ability to work independently and manage complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep knowledge of SAP Finance and Controlling.
• Expertise in data architecture, including how accounting data is captured, stored and integrated with external systems.
• Deep knowledge of SAP FI modules and middleware integration (e.g., Mulesoft, IDocs, PI/PO).
• Ability to translate high-level business and scientific goals into a concrete vision and technology roadmaps, such as using Smartclose and Blackline Cloud technologies.
• Excellent understanding of the product discovery and development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with GxP, FAIR data principles, and data privacy regulations (GDPR).
• Understanding of modern software architecture (e.g., microservices, APIs, cloud platforms).
• Familiarity with data science and AI/ML concepts is required.
• Mastery in coaching and developing others to enable high participation and performance within teams.
• Understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Essential expertise in a global, multicultural, time-zone-spanning work environment.

Nice to have

• Experience working within the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology.
• Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or other validated environments.
