Field Service Engineer

Overview

Field Service Engineer executing low to medium complexity service work, delivering quality service to satisfy customers. The role works onsite in Mumbai (Automation – Energy division).

What you'll do

• Execute service work per work instructions, ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
• Perform entry level field service tasks in ABB DCS 800 XA and identify technical issues.
• Run analysis activities through remote or on-site service work.
• Prepare material lists and ensure required materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
• Apply a first-time right approach to ensure jobs are done on time and to quality standards.
• Prepare documents and customer reports for customer representative signatures.

What you'll need

• 3-8 years of practical service engineering experience for ABB Symphony or 800xA systems in the Oil, Gas & Chemical industry.
• Full-time Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Extensive background in DCS hardware & application engineering, including HMI, library development, third-party communication, testing, and commissioning.
• Demonstrated proficiency in ABB System 800xA with at least 1 year experience.
• Knowledge of other ABB systems like Freelance and communication protocols including Profibus, Modbus, and OPC.
• Experience executing brownfield DCS projects as Resident engineer, including application modifications, retrofits, controller migrations, and on-site commissioning.
• Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal).
